Hydration Therapy

Dehydration is a pathophysiologic process that occurs when you lose more fluid than you take in, resulting in the body not having enough water to carry out its normal functions. It is commonly caused by nutritional deficiencies in which there is insufficient nutrients in the foods we eat, or when the body is unable to absorb those nutrients. Dehydration may also be caused by:

• Excessive sweating
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Increased urination
• Drinking alcohol

The goal is to drink at least 64 oz of water daily, but you would have to drink more water if you are in the sun or if you exercise or have excessive sweating. IF YOU FEEL THIRSTY, YOU ARE ALREADY DEHYDRATED!
